Are you already spending your weekends on the sidelines watching your child play soccer? Why not step onto the field and make a lasting impact? We're looking for volunteers to coach our recreational soccer teams—and the best part is, no prior coaching experience is required!
As a parent, you already have a unique perspective on your child’s development. Volunteer coaches are an essential part of our program, and by joining the team, you’ll have the chance to nurture your child’s love for the game while making a real difference in their athletic journey.
“Watching them learn the game and grow has been so rewarding!” — says one experienced parent coach. Many of our volunteer coaches have found that the rewards of coaching go far beyond what they could have imagined. Whether you're helping teach basic skills, fostering teamwork, or simply encouraging your child to enjoy the game, it’s an experience that stays with you.
"I’ve coached school ball for 21 years and coaching my kids has been, by far, my best coaching experience to date." For seasoned coaches, the opportunity to coach their own children adds a personal and meaningful layer to their work. It’s a chance to bond in a new way, learn together, and create memories that last a lifetime.
“It’s the most fun you never knew you needed!” Whether you're a first-time coach or an experienced one, you'll find joy in seeing your players develop skills, grow in confidence, and most importantly, have fun on the field.
Why Volunteer?
-
No Experience Needed: Don’t worry if you’ve never coached before – many of our coaches were just like you. We provide all the tools and guidance you need to be successful.
-
Create Lasting Memories: There’s no better way to bond with your child than by getting involved in their sports activities. Coaching allows you to see your child’s growth firsthand, celebrate small victories, and share in their excitement.
-
Build a Stronger Community: Teamwork isn’t just about players—it’s about coaches, parents, and the entire community working together to support our kids. By volunteering, you're becoming a vital part of that network.
-
More coaches, smaller rosters: The best environment for your child is one where they can have more opportunities for success. The more coaches we have, the small the team rosters are, which means more opportunities for success and flourishment, and ultimately a better experience for your player.
Tips for First-Time Coaches:
Keep it Fun: Remember, soccer is about enjoyment! Developing a love for the game is far more important than early skill development. If the kids love playing, the skills will come over time.
Be Patient: An early bad experience can discourage kids from playing, so be patient and encouraging. Keep the mood light and positive.
Get Involved: Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you're unsure about anything. The coaching community here is incredibly supportive, and we’re all here to help each other.
Teamwork is Key: Even if you are the official coach, you are not alone – just ask your player’s parents for assistance, and they will jump to help. If we all work together, we create an environment where every player, coach, and parent can succeed.
