From first-timers to seasoned players, these tournaments were full of moments that will create memories

Over Columbus Day weekend, six South Huntington SC teams hit the fields for local tournament action — showcasing skill, teamwork, and the spirit of competition.

At the Northport Cow Harbor Columbus Cup, our club was represented across multiple age groups, with every team making the most of Saturday’s matches before the weather ultimately shut down Day 2 play.

The U9 Lightning dove into their first-ever tournament and truly lit up the field — scoring 10 goals and allowing just 3, topping their bracket with an impressive +7 goal differential.

The U10 Scorpions gained valuable experience in two hard-fought matches, finding the back of the net 9 times and continuing to build their chemistry against strong competition.

The U10 Strikers showed plenty of firepower as well, earning a thrilling 6–4 win before narrowly falling 4–6 in their second match. Ten total goals across two games highlighted their attacking flair and relentless effort.

The U12 Fire blazed through the weekend with two commanding victories — 7–1 and 5–2 — for a dominant +9 goal differential. This confidence boost comes at the perfect time for a team that’s been playing up an age group all season to push themselves and grow.

The U14 Heat took the field as a combined squad of the U13 Heat and U14 Tsunami, dropping their opener 2–4 but storming back for a strong 3–1 win. The collaboration between these two groups showed off the depth of talent within our program.

Meanwhile, at the 43rd Annual East Islip Fall Classic, the U11 United battled through both Saturday and Sunday. They improved with each outing, closing out the tournament with a hard-earned 1–1 draw. Competing through the rain and wind, United showed great resilience and determination.

All told, 50 goals were scored by our teams over the weekend — a testament to the energy and excitement they brought to every match. From first-timers to seasoned players, these tournaments were full of moments they will carry with them — experiences to learn from, memories to cherish, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
